J B Hunt - DCS (Dedicated Contract Services)
Trailer 668506 is brand new, as for being manufactured by Wabash National this month. J B Hunt first started purchasing these trailers in October 2013, and these are replacing the Wabash National trailers that were built in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Currently J B Hunt has at least 7,906 of these trailers. J B Hunt also has some trailers that are in the 660 series that were manufactured by Hyundai, during October, November, and December 2008. These are in the series from 660000 to around 660434. The newer trailers perhaps start at 660600, because I havent seen any pick up in the 660400s where the Hyundai types left off, or any in the 660500s. Another feature with these new trailers is that some have swing doors, and some have a roll up door.

Tom Beckett General The trailers in the 660000 series are composite body, with the panels made of a mixed steel/fiber material. Oddly, they weigh more than the standard steel plate trailers(around 14,500 lbs vs about 13,500 to 14,000 for a Duraplate) due to the material, though they are supposed to be more durable. It will take some more years to find that out!! Some of the older Wabash Duraplates have been refurbished, and though they are now over 15 years old, are still in service. This was something of a sticking point with some of the paper mills, some of which would reject trailers older than 7 years. The 660 number series has trailers scattered through the general pool and DCS, since the trailers in this group are not specially equipped. Here in NW Arkansas, they have Tyson and Simmons Foods as DCS accounts, with feed and flatbed trailers. They are numbered in the 80000 and 60000 series, respectively. Note the "not for rail use" sticker on the nose. Any trailer with this sticker has air ride suspens 9/24/2015 2:54:28 AM
